SLP Y pipe Opinions please
Alright I have a 02 Hawk that I want to do some mods but not take away from it being a Firehawk. I was wondering if anyone is using the SLP Y-Pipe that replaces the factory stamped piece. The car has the Dual Dual exhaust IMO it sounds great I just want a few more ponies keeping the same exhaust tone. Just want to know if any of you are using it and if its worth spending the money on.

This is the SLP Y that is a direct replacement for stock
and fits to the stock cats. The main reason it's a waste
is that aside from the crush that GM put in the stock Y,
it's replacing pipe with pipe of the same diameter.

I have LTs on my 98 and I have been trying to get that perfect sounding exhaust for a long time. So far the only thing that I like is true duals but that came at a cost of ground clearance it went to ****. So for the Hawk I have been researching a lot of different options before I take the plunge. I will look into the bassani true duals

For the life of me, I am surprised this is the ONLY company selling a full (out the rear) true dual kit for 4th Gens!!! Seems like there are some big opportunities out there for exhaust companies -- if they want to play ball!

[rhetorical]Did you click the install link?[/rhetorical]
It says "Note to installer: this system directly installs only with the stock catalytic converter pipes in place."

Because these cars are getting so old it is unlikely that a major company is going to jump in and create new true dual setup. I wish they would have come factory with something like the bassani kit, or even like the 04 GTOs 2 pipes on 1 side. There are a few good kits out there I ran the Ebay stainless true duals for a few thousand miles on my 98 it sounded amazing but ground clearance was ****. I was hoping for better news about that SLP y pipe but I am going to listen to the majority this time and pass. Looks like I need to start saving up for ARH or Kooks for the Hawk now.
