Default How to get rid of rasp with Corsa/no cats

I just put a Corsa muffler on and it has alot of rasp at wide open throttle.I'm thinking, put a SLP resonator right after the merge?Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Personally i would run a dynomax bullet. I have one in my magnaflow with my catback in the i-pipe and i would say the rasp is 98% gone, plus it added to the tone and it sounds deeper. I am not sure a lm1 resonator will take away all the rasp.

could put some kind of h pipe or x pipe in it before the y part of the merge, thats what I did and it got rid of 100% of the rasp with lt's and no cats. PM me for details.

Hi Duane (op),

Glad to see you got my old Corsa installed ok. Yeah, like I said, you'll get rasp w/out cats. And I'm glad to see that some others have also had good results with a bullet in-line instead of cats. I would imagine that's the cheaper way to go.
Be sure and post back with your results.

^ that. rasp forms mainly from the Y merge due to disimilar lengths of the Y pipe. a good merge can eliminate it or at least most of it.

Thanks guys for all the replies. The Vibrant bullet doesn't look like a bad deal and one of them is only 5" long.I could put it right after the merge of the y pipe as I have plenty of room there. Thanks again,Duane

I have the Corsa with Kooks headers and Kooks ORY. I'm definitely interested in your result as I would like to quiet mine down a bit too.

Those resonators they sell at vibrant are cheaper than the race mufflers, I also remember some really nice "resonator only" cars that sound awesome with NO rasp. Like: CTS-V, C4 corvette, GTO, 2010 Camaro. You can search "muffler delete" on youtube to get a feel for the tone that the resonator will impart on the exhaust note.
