I dont know, i say if your going to fix it do it right. LS6 valley cover. Especially if you are taking your manifold off, replace the valley cover at the same time. If your looking for easier to install, they are both easy catch can takes less time because you dont need to remove your manifold.

LS6 valley cover is a better PCV system. The LS1 style is pulling fumes form a splash lubrication area, so it's gonna suck up oil at high RPM. In the cam valley, there is no splash lubrication so there is MUCH less chance of sucking up oil.
However, the LS6 valley does not eliminate the VC to TB hose. That is still taking fumes from the VC. I'd put a catch can in line with that (and I will soon) to help eliminate as much oil as possible from getting ingested.
This is from my swap. (We've got mice here. Mice won't chew thru steel wool)

^ Comes on LS6 and up blocks. LS2,6,3,7 and 9 (9 might be a modified version for FI.) LS1 was the last design to use the "crappy" PCV system.
It's just an updated style of PCV system that is used now. Not specifically the "LS6 valley cover."

i have the Norris PVC Catch Can(installing in a month or so) anyone run just the can and no valley cover with any luck? and i hear that the ls6 valley cover is NOT a direct fit and yo have to notch out the block on 02 and under ls1's for the internal pcv valve to fit. is this ture?

so if your only going to be using a breather and removing the PCV, what could the issues be with this? i ask only because i bought a norris catch can and am thinking of geting the ls6 valley. i want the best affective way to prevent from smoking/ blowing out my exhaust at WOT and oil in my intake.

I spin both cars pretty close to 7000 well one i spin to 7000 and just normal driving I am definately throwing oil. I plan on eventually doing a catch can on the vette for sure. Looks like an easy install from this...

Also its the exact same part number I ordered.
The only thing I dont look forward to is possibly shaving the darn valley or cutting it. Since its an Lq9 IRON block im wonderring how much work I have cut out for me. Has anyone cut the IRON block for this to fit?

Definitely get the 04+ LS6 valley cover. I'm not sure how people don't see results with the mod. I certainly did. I used to add almost a whole quart between oil changes. Now I don't add a drop after the valley cover. I had my TB off last week, and the inside of my manifold looked pretty clean.
