Default Factory Ram Air?

I have been reading a lot about lids and ram air and I can see from my own air box how restrictive it is! My T/A came with a K & N cone filter and air box in the trunk, I am questioning the potential for hot intake air opposed to a sealed ram air? I like the SLP lid and SSRA, I'm also going to install March 25% UD pulleys. I can't debate that the SSRA or similar grabs more air than the factory inlets, has anyone tried using the factory ram air with a lid? Does the SLP lid require anything else for the install? Should I just install all three and if so what are the estimated gains, 25hp? Thanks, Les>>>

I would yank that cone filter off and put the WS6 lower back on and pick up a lid.

The lid should just snap into place

So I do need the lower part of the original ram air for a new lid, thanks. What about using the factory scoops for intake air?

If you want to run a air lid, yes you need the lower air box. Keep in mind the WS6 cars have a taller lower air box than the others.

Why not put the stock bottom airbox on, get a lid, and SSRA like I have?

That's what I was debating as to the best bang for buck as I am not planning on cam and headers any time soon, I am M6 with Magnaflow and 3:73. Just didn't know what all was needed with the lid and I read nothing but good with the SSRA! Did you notice a significant change with the intake mods? Thanks, Les.

Not sure I understand this. Do you mean could I FEEL a power increase? If so, no its to minimal but look at my track results. It shows its worth.

I just read your link and the attached tech article, all positive feedback and you can't dispute lower IAT increases HP! With the SSRA, do I have to do any cutting, how does it mount?
And yes, any seat of the pants increase, I could see more pull from a stop because the lower IAT would help from pulling timing and less chance of detonation in stop and go driving.

No this is minimal cutting. You only need to cut a square out of the lower air box. Its only plastic and you have to cut this for any CAI kit. Here ill post some pics from when I did the TC install...
Heres where I sealed the airbox. You can make it look better than I did but im not that picky and it does the job...

It shoots down right in front of my trans cooler. This is without the lower piece.

Here it is with the lower duct connected.
