Default 4" Flowmaster merge and cutout review-vids

I finally got around to making some sound clips.

I went from Pacesetter 1 3/4" headers, Pacesetter offroad Y with a 3" QTP cutout in the I pipe.

I had a 3 to 4" flowmaster merge, 4" I pipe and a 4" DMH cutout installed.
All I can say is DAMN.
ALL OF MY RASP IS COMPLETLY GONE!!!! The note is much deeper and the butt-o-meter thinks I picked up a little power. It doesn't sound like typical 3" high pitched LS1 ***. More like a classic musclecar. Don't screw around with anything smaller. Go big or go home!

The flowmaster setup looks good...It has a bigger opening then mine....mine is only 3.5 in.

Are you gonna get any dyno results? Here is my y-setup

Thanks Guys.
I've seen both of your threads.
Hey Brad, did the 3.5 get rid of your rasp?
No dyno, I had a street tune. Someday I'll get it on the rollers.
Not sure if it's just in my head, but it feels more powerful.
I'm sure both of you guys can vouch for the sound difference.
Completely different animal.

Yes my car is completely different, it is louder at 1,500, but above that driving on the highway its actually quieter....Most of the rasp is gone, but i think its an LS thing to be a little raspy.

I think the car has been getting better mileage as well with this setup, almost no throttle is needed to maintain 75 mph

The first ten years I had the car, the rasp was cool. I dunno, the last year I just got tired of it. Yes, I think it sounds a lot better. Cleaner and deeper.

Only 1 word comes to mind when you mash the pedal......violence.

That thing is just a monster, I think all those videos sound raspy, and I love it....must be the camera.

Insane car man, love it. I bet those 4.11s made a huge difference!

Thanks for the compliments!
Tim, after the cam, the gears were the best mod by far!

How can I describe the lack of rasp sound?....

Before, there were certain pitches that just resonated the hell out of the cabin. It would peak at different volumes with annoying harmonics that just was pure ***. Now, it's a uniform tone, no peaks or changes to the pitch. Just consistant deep throaty exhaust all the way to redline. Why didn't I do this years ago?

Just outta curiosity, where did you get your 4" I pipe? Had it custom made? This is the route I want to go, but I don't think any shops in my area know how to do it worth a damn. I'd love to be able to buy just a 4" I pipe.

You can buy a 4' section from summit or jegs. I was lucky that I had an old school hot rodder exhaust guy to put it together. Between the length of the merge, cutout and reducer I only used a couple of inches of straight 4" pipe. You can also pick up any slip joints, clamps, reducers or any hardware you may need for a DIY. I would think that just a 4" I pipe would make your note deeper. With the cutout closed and through the Hooker catback, I noticed a difference. There's a Hooker catback soundclip in my sig that has a 4" I pipe.
I'm not aware of any Sponsors with a good assortment.

That sounds robust!

...oh and I hate to be 'that guy', but don't forget to wipe the grease caused by the leaky pinion seal off the bottom of your car. Id hate to see it catch fire....seen it happen on the internets b4
