I finally got it done. YAY. Glad its over.
I've had prothane mm inserts and a trans mount I bought 5 years ago. I was waiting until I got "THE" headers to install them and have NOT been looking forward to it. I removed the stock manifolds and y-pipe for good.
I did the drivers side mm first in about 7 hours and the pass side was done in about 2 or 3. Pain in the ***. Fought 1 lower forward bolt to get it back in the block for about half the time and repeatedly ran a tap in and out of the threads. I could get a tap in but not the stud. PISSED! Finally I bought a socket cap screw with a better lead than the stock stud and it went in. Little ******. That wasn't cool. I took the pedestals out completely and was able to do it all by myself one side at a time. O yea, don't bother disconnecting the ac comp. if you do it this way. Waste of time/not necessary.
Computer sent off to Frost. Can't wait to fire that bitch up in about a week.
After doing these motor mounts I feel like I need a diploma or something.
There should be a shirt that reads....I did poly MM on an f-body in my garage by myself...don't **** with me.
