Default Muffler delete, how is it?

Ive tried to look for a thread on it but couldnt find anything. Thing i want to do, is mainly just for sound, not HP gains. I want to cutoff the muffler and put pipes there instead. Was just wondering if any1 has done this and has a sound clip?

No one can give you an answer unless we know your full set up. If you dont run a muffler at least get some cats so you have alittle bit of tone.

I would at least put a dynomax bullet muffler on it, it'll still be just as loud at WOT but noticeably quieter at idle.

Sounds like ****. I didn't have a muffler when I bought my car and hated it.

I say do it!!!! Mine sounds mint!!!! I get tons of people asking me what kind of exaust I have cause they like the way it sounds. I just say it's all GM. BUT maby it depends on what kind of pipes u run out the back. Vid of the camaro looks like none, cant tell on the T/A. I have the factory slp upgrade center mount exaust. removed the muffler and had a custom Y pipe made to connect the mid pipe to my center mount tip. Sounds like a cross between the two video clips. It's mild and deep so super easy to drive around town, and nascar sounding when I deck it. It's not raspy like the vid of the T/A that thing kinda sounds hollow to me, no offense. I have long tubes and cat delete planed for next spring but I'm slow to pull the trigger cause I know i'll have to put something on it then. Maby i'll say screw it. I can deal with a ticket here and there for noise. Very easy to push the clutch in and coast by the coppers!

I have my stock exhaust manifold, then I cut them off after the cats-it's freaking golden!!! It sounds like an old school muscle car. I get complements alllll the time on it. they're cut off at a point so they are basically side mount exhausts.

It's pretty quiet at idle, but WOT is a monster!!!

It costs about 15 minutes of your time, and not a dime!

Since you're broke, just try it out and see what you think. If you really hate it, just weld your stock exhaust back on!
