Default will milling heads throw off intake port alignment?

Never really thought of it till I mentioned milling my heads to my dad. His response was to just get domed pistons. Being as how milling the heads brings them down wouldn't it make the head ports sit lower than the intake ports and have sealing problems? Or is the milling nowhere near enough to make a difference?
I ask because i plan to go e85 and had a set of weisco pistons picked out and was going to have the heads milled to bring it up to 12:1 comp. But I don't see a + cc piston to bring it up if I leave the heads alone.
Anyone care to cure my doubts?

I heard anything .025 + will have problems with flexing the intake and may lead to sealing issues. When I had a set of 243's done by TEA I was recommended to go .020-.022 max.

Have the intake side of the heads milled the same. Common practice.

The intake ports aren't a perfect match from the factory so milling the heads some won't hurt the alignment of the ports enough to matter. You won't ever be able to mill them enough to 12:1 compression without problems with intake bolt alignment though. Use flat top pistons and mill the heads no more than .030 and you'll have plenty of compression.

So I would just be better off milling the heads .030 and getting flat tops than trying to find domed pistons? And thanks for the quick responses.

As far as I can tell from most sponsor sites there are only -2cc pistons in the brand I want unless they just don't regularly carry them?

there are plenty of pistons that offer a huge dome. check sdparts - i know i've seen some there.

however, you can get awfully close to 12:1 using the factory ls1 piston with a milled head and thin gasket. just don't get a huge cam in there or your pistons and valves will be fighting for space.

I found a set of +12cc weisco pistons from texas speed. Plan on running a big cam so the valve reliefs are a must lol. And I dont wanna hit stock pistons with a 200 shot

I have heard .030 is safe but have seen people do .040 without issue.
