Default Can I install a Cat-Back exhaust system myself ?

Is it hard to install a cat-back exhaust system ? Would i be able to do this in my driveway ? I have 2 floor jacks, 2 jack stands and an air compressor. The car is stock and its my daily driver.

Thanks

Of course it can be done. It would be nice to have another set of hands though helping you get everything put in place.

Good luck!

there shouldnt be any cutting unless you have to separate the stock exhaust up to get it out. you may have to drill a bolt out if you snap it but you should just be able to take the old one off and the new one should slide right into place.

It depends if your exhaust is welded. You need toget the car pretty high to remove it if it's welded you'll need to cut it so you can get it over the axle

Is the catback new? Ive put on like 6 catbacks on these cars and only the two used ones took over an hour.

You will need to sawzall the pipe that goes over the axle. If it is used, you will be a lot better off to get an exhaust shop to use their expander to make the slip fitting much easier.

I have not purchased it yet. Been pricing around. A friend of mine had a Borla (doesn't own the car anymore) and that had a good sound to it and wasn't that loud. I'm in no rush for it, I just didn't know if this was something that I could do or not. From what everyone says i guess i could lol.

If it has the stock exhaust, you have to either cut it to get it out, or much better to raise the frame on jackstands, put a jack under the pass. side axle, and remove the pass. side shock and spring, so you can just slide the pipe out the side. From my experience, using a sawzall to cut it is a PITA (the blades keep breaking), and dangerous due to pieces of broken blade possibly flying around.
