true dual crossover nessacery?
i did my true duals about a month ago. I decided at the time not to include a
crossover. Just two 2.5 inch pipes down under the axle and outback with moroso spiral flows. I installed these with ebay headers. currently they are my only mod. when i get a lid i will get a frost tune. the car feels much more powerful now. is a crossover nessacery and will i notice a gain from it?
please provide data and dyno sheets if you have them.

like he said i dont have a dyno sheet but it will sound better(ive heard both, h-pipe and x-pipe sound better). You probably didnt gain much more power over your stock setup. Exhaust systems are "you get what you pay for" type of thing. Also i would get over axle exhaust. More ground clearance and looks better.

well i kinda disagree that exhaust is "you get what you pay for" i mean you are bias, look what you spent for your setup, this was my first time fabricating a full exhaust but i have zero ground clearence issues(i'm lowering around an inch) and you cant see my exhaust unless you bend down to see it. now it is no where near as pretty as yours. why do think i haven't made power, because the lack of crossover, ebay headers, or no tune yet?

The kooks stainless steel headers are the best from what i have seen of hooker, edelbrock, pacesetter, and tsp header. They are welded and just made and look much better. They fit like a dream. On the kooks the exhaust slips over the collectors so no exhaust leak. They tuck the body but have yet to hit even though i almost lost half of the car in a pot hole. The sound is like no other and with a cam it is god. There is no rasp or drone. The exhaust went together nice and is 304 stainless steel. the whole exhuast is polished ss. The tips on it are very high quality. I have seen many custom exhaust, corsa, borla, tsp true duals. None of them where even comparable to what kooks has and thats why i went with the setup i have. I got my bmr dsl, kooks 1 7/8 headers, kooks true duals single tips for 2000k shipped to my house and couldn't be happier.

I think the underaxle appearence looks nice. It lets everyone behind you know you have the TDs. I also think over the axle is great too, thats all personal preference though.
Imao, Kooks is extremely expensive for a TD system. It's stainless which is awesome, but If my car is not going to be in any shows, not interested, it's all hidden under the car. As long as the e-bay headers don't leak, their shouldn't be any performance gains between the cheapest header vs the most expensive headers. You could have stainless e-bay headers, custom stainless TD's run out the back for half the price of Kooks, same performance gains..Duals are Duals, many different setups, maybe a 5hp variable difference beween systems ( 2.5vs3", other supporting mods).

BOBS99SS is right, Kooks are nice, but they are also the most expensive set you can get, that does not make them better, I have an old set of ceramic coated FLPs on mine, car makes great power, and I bought them from a member on this site, for 150.00 with the ypipe. Fabricating your own exhaust, thats modding your car, nothing against a fella who can dump that kind of money on a high dollar exhaust, but there are equal setups out there for 1/3 the price of kooks.

Thats how you find out which is the nicest.
Otherwise we would all still be buying everything from SLP because thats one of the most well known aftermarket/factory co-op companies out there for our cars. I honestly dont think anyone on here could say if it werent for LS1tech, they would know half the **** and half the companies that make things for our cars.
That being said, in my case, I have 2nd hand Edlebrock stainless 1 3/4-1 7/8X3 1/2 headers to modified TSP TD's. I have zero issues with it and it performs amazing. 800 bucks in my exhaust and that includes the single chambers that I bought to replace the bullets that came with the TSP TD's.
If money wasent an object, I would buy a tubing bender and an TIG welder and fabricate my own exhaust from the exhaust ports to the rear bumper.
