Default Weiand/Lingenfelter Intake differences from LS6

What exactly are the differences? The descriptions online aren't very in depth and everyone always says its better than the LS6. I'm highly considering buying one this week and would just like more info on it. And please no replys about heat soak or just buy an LS6 please.

I spoke with a rep from Weiand a couple weeks ago about the intake. From the box its supposed to flow slightly better than an LS6(he didnt give any numbers), the major difference is the intake lends itself to modifications. You can gasket match the intake to the heads, weld in NOS nozzles and port all around inside the plenum. All these mods help it to flow even better than the factory units.

ls6 is a better option. The weiland flows similiar, if not the same, as a ls6 intake, since its design is based off the ls6 intake.

It is not plastic, and it great for die hard nitrous users. However it does weigh more, and has a tendency to 'heat soak'.

Find a ls6 and be done with it.

I got blacklisted by the ls1tech mafia for calling the aluminum intake a "heat sink" hopefully they don't read this thread lol....I would go with ls6 composite intake 10 outta 10 times unless using nitrous

I am going with this intake if a deal on a fast 78 falls through. And I am not getting an LS6 ever, its a waste of money. I know that anything else will make more power up top.

Really? I havent seen a Weiand make more than a ls6. Prob depends on the dyno and conditions I guess.

I am going to be buying this intake, I dug up what I could about the TPIS LS6 vs a stock LS6 and a FAST 78. Every test I could find the TPIS intake just edges out the FAST 78. So for the money Ill be doing this intake along with the firemech modded intake.

BLK98VERT- I agree with your above posts. From all the info I have been able to find the BBK and Weiand are the best flowing metal intakes. For the price of them I dont honestly think you can beat them.
