Default Removing MAF from SLP Lid

May sound like a noob question but im having a heck of a time getting the stock maf out of my SLP Lid. Bought the Lid and dont need the maf thats why im trying to get it out. Ive putting the hair dryer to it and hot water but neither have been able to get the maf out. Ive got it to be able to slide around but just cant get it to pop out. I know these are fragile so im trying to be easy on it. Anyone have any other ways to get the damn thing out so i can get it in the mail for the new buyer?

Thanks!

Yeah, they're a pain...try the hair drier again and then there should be a small lip on the maf you can pry against with a flathead screwdriver to push against the lid. Just keep moving it a little from different sides. Might make a small nick in the lid neck, but if you've got to get it off...

Damn what a retarded setup this is... why couldnt they just cut the lip smaller and had a coupler mate them together??? Ive already got the bottom of the neck freed up with a screwdriver but the top will not let go and im just making a mess so i stopped. My plan is above to heat it up again and have my buddy try and work it out some how. If i have to ill nick the neck ill have to as im going to cut it anyways as this is for a lid conversion on my lt1 car and im going to make it a straight shot. Thanks for the advice ill give it a shot again later.

Can you take a metal hammer and lightly bang the MAF out? Of course you'd have already separated the MAF ends from the MAF sensor itself... Along those lines... you could probably secure the MAF end to a 2x4 or something, stand on the 2x4, and pull. Don't be afraid to put your back into it!
