Default coil brackets

ok i just got some 243 heads i am putting on my 98z to replace the 806 heads. do i need some sort of different coil brackets seeing that the valve covers are diferent? what are my options

Yes, the 98 you have came with perimiter valve covers, the coils bolted to the cover itself,, however when you change to the centerbolt covers, you have to use a bracket, to mount the coils on, and that bracket mounts to the valve cover . put the coils on the bracket before putting it on the valve cover...

found some on ebay but have another question will this require me using different coils than my sock 98 coils

i am getting both yes and no from different sources on whether a ls1 coil will fit a truck bracket so i went and got them being that they were free. i will post my results

i have a set of LS1 valve covers, Coils, Coil brackets and the wiring harnesses in my garage....

The 98 ls1 coils will fit on the newer brackets, You just have to flip one of them around.

which ones are the newer brackets i now have one of each. one has rectangle holes for the coil to sit and the other one is open on one end


undertow74 would you sell just the brackets with bolts how much shipped to 70663. please pm me

i cant fit the ls1 coils to either types of brackets. it will fit on one type but the coils are acing the wrong way
