Default Replacing my y-pipe and catback exhaust. I got?????

I currently have Lt pacesetters with off road ypipe and magnaflow catback exhaust. Now i want to replace the ypipe and catback for catted true duals, electric cutouts and have the pipes ran out back into the magnaflow muffler. I havent had any luck finding a catted xpipe or h pipe so i guess I'll talk to my local exhaust shop. Here's what i wanted to do. After the x or h pipe i wanted to install 2 electric cutouts. Then i wanted to take the 2 pipes thats running from the cutouts and make it into 1 pipe then go over the axle and into the magnaflow muffler that i currently have on the car. Does that make since or is it a waste of time and money?? Reason I want the 2 pipes ran into 1 is because of clearance over the axle and so i can open the cutouts when i want the exhaust to really be heard. How would it sound with the cutouts open with no muffler???

If your going to merge it back into a single why not just run a custom catted y pipe and one cut-out?

duals are they way togo, but honest i would put money towards mods like a cam etc, you allready have a decent exhaust put a cut out in there for now, then when ya get mods done then go back and change it, honest a custom dual exhaust with cats,x pipe and 2 magnaflow mufflers ,then the cost of tips and stainless pipe all made could get you a cam done, imo lose the cats , racecars dont have them, and with duals there will be no rasp etc, your call though i just think its better to go back to the exhaust later, once you do heads n cam then you might see some gains going to duals depending on the setup you go with

Magnaflow universal can be found for a decent price and I have heard the Random Technology cats are very good, albeit pricey.

I like that setup pictured above, but for a cheaper and still a god way to construct it I suggest a Y and right at the place of intersection were the Y is put the cutout pointing so that the part were the left side comes in to make a Y with the right side is were the beginning of the cutout is. then the left side blows straight out the cutout and the right side will follow. then a simple 3" over the axle to whatever muffler you like. Thats what I have and it sounds, looks, and flows great! I also bolted a flanged 3" turndown on it so my exhaust does blow straight to my tire/rim/axle/brakes.

The picture above is EXTREMELY restrictive when capped though, straight to a dead end then tons of turbulance to go up . but my electric cutout is always open unless im on the highway lol. cool looking setup though, alot of thought involved
