Default Is 102mm intake worth it?

Heyyo

I want to know if the 102mm is worth it.....
I'm going Naturally Aspirated and trying to get a good plan for my intake

I currently have the SLP Lid & Filter as far as intake goes.

Would 100ish be too much? I've seen a lot of products sticking to the 85mm.
thanks

With stock heads and cam I'd just put a LS6 intake on it.

I agree, there is absolutely no need in putting all that money towards a 102 on a basically stock car, totally not worth it when the LS6 will do the job for so much more cheaper.

x3, LS6 will work just fine if you aren't touching the heads/cam. If you want an 85mm MAF, just get a truck MAF, but the stock one is good for quite a while (close to 500 rwhp or so I've been told), so an 85mm is still money that could go to better mods at this point for you.

Put the biggest one on that money allows. Then when you mod later you'll have the big boy already. 102mm is not too big for any engine, including a stock cube engine, it'll perform fine. Get a big *** TB too.......I think there's 100's or 102's also. MAF too.....get the 100mm MAF.

dont forget the 200+ to upgrade the fuel rails for the 102 as well as the clearance problems the 102 is having that sometimes require different motormounts.

I always find it funny how everyone complains about the cost of things. Dont hate, you gotta pay to play.

You can run a LS6 without a tune until you get more mods. Your going to need a tune with a 102 install. Factor that into the cost and your close to 2k already.

Yeah, I'm just trying to get a game plan going.

And cost isn't a factor, if its something nice I'll save up for it
But yeah, right now I'm building the suspension up w/ panhard bar, control arms, etc..

So I wanted to have a plan set for intake & Exhaust.

On stock heads I would say not. I read a thread that compared it with the BBK Intake,LS6, and fast. IMO 1000+ bucks isn't worth 10rwhp

with the cost of the FAST 102 and all the plumbing for it you could buy a budget H/C package from TSP.
