I'm curious about this too. It says the body is reduced size.

Damn they're pretty.... sjsingle1, does it include 2 long bolts like the truck starters so we don't have to worry about snapping blocks?

I wrap my starter with a foil blanket from Summit. Keeps some of that header heat off of it.

the instructions tell you to run a separate heavier wire from the batt to the starter.......it eats more amps

Ordered today. I have ARH 1 7/8 headers. If not bigger than a stock starter. I should not have to much issues.

I tried the Summitt adjustable mini starter SUM-820320 - Summit Racing® Protorque starter . Adjusted one way it hits the headers with the solenoid . Turned it in and now it hits the sender above where the starter mounts . Anyone used this starter ? What is that sender above where the starter mounts ?

Thank you , I would of never guessed that .
The only way the Summitt starter will fit is without headers . Unless you can flip it 180 . Is that an option ? Solenoid on bottom ?

Default starter

My opinon to anyone thinking if getting this starter : If you have headers , get something else .
I ended up getting a truck starter for a 2000 Silverado 6.0 . It has the block that uses the two long bolts as opposed to the one short and one long that the car starter ha . It also is a little smaller .

The truck starter and alternators seem to be good buys. Several people have posted good results with them. I went with a Powermaster starter and yes with long tubes you have to move it around to fit. The PM is completety clockable in any direction, some only have a couple adjustments.

Why? The MSD has the longer bolts as well. I'm curious as to your reasoning. Is it just price?

Time was the main reason . I have to send the Summitt back and then order a MSD . I wasn't too sure about a simple bolt on for the MSD where the truck I knew would bolt in . Price was good too . Truck starter was $169.00 at Auto Zone .
