another loudmouth question
I have a 99 Trans Am Ls1 6 speed with a set of BBK longtubes and BBK y-pipe no cats and lm1 catback. Loved the sound before putting on the longtubes. Recently installed cam and had my car dyno tuned. Love the sound at idle and at wot. But around 2000-2400 rpms it gets annoying. everyone that hears my car says "Man that thing is loud as hell." a lot of people say replace the resonator with a dynomax bullet. would adding another resonator at the back of the y-pipe be stupid or would that help cut back on the rasp and popping and cracking. just looking for suggestions.

all it takes is some math
Can't find an example here on LS1Tech so sorry for the outside link:

I know several G8 guys are doing this and I'm pretty sure its the same principle that Corsa uses in their exhaust.

that looks complicated, i was just wondering if someone had added a resonator or muffler with any success. dont want to do any major modification. looking at resonators on ebay for $50. may just try it and see how it sounds.

I use to have thunder bolt high flow cats on my lm1 with long tubes. I took them off and it got MUCH louder. When I had the cats on there was zero rasp what so ever. I like the rasp sound it makes so I kept them off.

That's the nature of the Loudmouth 1, it doesn't have any packing to actually muffle the sound. I've ran a Loudmouth 2 catback, and now an xpipe into dual Loudmouth 2's, and they sound way better than the LM1.
