flowmaster?
ive been debating mufflers. i want somethin quiet, but something i can drive daily without robbing too much power. how are the 3" hushpowers for holding back power? i like the idea of a straight thru without the size since ill be havin 2 3" pipes commin out the passenger side of the truck i couldnt have a big muffler in the way... they just wont fit. i need somethin to flow nicely without havin a cutout yet. any ideas? the combo is a 364 lq4/ls3 setup with a carb. about 560-580 fwhp. the pipes will be 1 7/8 lt headers to a 3" collector then 3" pipe for about 20" to the muffler and then another 20" inches before a side exit, true duals i was thinkin unless its a losing game with hp vs sound.... help please

magnaflow what? like is there a series that makes these ls engines sound awesome? i wanna sound like a nasty built vette a wot but still have some quietness for daily driving. no emissions here or really sound laws just personal preference. i wanna do a cutout but i cant justify the 400 plus to buy them and put them in.... yet. lol

I have Mac mids, ory, and single 3" into a single 3" in/out 30-series Flowmaster on my 93 LT1. Yes, I realize its a different motor entirely but the sound is very nice and I get compliments often. Outside, its just a bit louder than stock up to around 2500 rpm where it gets wicked and oddly high-pitched. Interior is quieter than factory with no drone or resonance whatsoever - I can easily have cellphone conversations without shouting, even at wot.
The only Flowmaster muffler proven to restrict flow is the fbody-specific 80-series crossflow mufflers. The rest flow just as well as the other mfgr's listed above

single in and out 3 inch in and out. something shorter than 20 inches with good sound and not super restrictive, im gunna drag race the truck but dont have the ambition to put in cutouts yet. i have no smog/emissions here either. the noise regulations also only require a muffler to be in place, no regulation on sound levels, aslong as a sound muffling device is in place its legal.
