Default Pacestter Y-pipe?

Hey guys I just ordered my pacesetter ceramic coated long tube headers for my 99 T/A and was thinking of either buying the pacesetter y-pipe or have my local muffler shop build me a custom one. Is there anyone that has had any bad experiences going with the pacesetter y-pipe? Its an ORY by the way.

I have never been able to have a perfect fit with a Pacesetter ORY. I have tried it on 3 different vehicles and on my last one a 2002 TA I swore the next time I would go to a muffler shop and have a custom one made.

Thanks for your input! I just got off the phone with my muffler shop and they recommended to have a custom one made so that it can fit and flow perfectly.

It has a terrible merge. If you don't mind a little bit more work on the install, the Texas Speed ORY has a decent merge and it's stainless steel to boot.

I dnt think SLP sells a ORY by itself. They sell stock replacements for the 2.5... I know that forsure

TSP, fit perfect, good merge. It's really on how you install weather it vibrates on the floor or not. There was a little gap that caused mine rattle a little but i turned one of the clamps so that the bolt pressed the exhaust down away from the floor a little and badda bing! No more noise.

Buy a Flowmaster Merge 3" inlets to a single 4" outlet.. Put a cutout after the Y (in the I pipe) then reduce back to a 3" and run it to whatever muffler you want/out the back.

Will flow the best (for a Y setup) for the money invested.

maybe, or it could've been that i still had stock motor/tranny mounts.......some people recommended installing poly mounts to help avoid the exhaust contact.....i didn't want to go through the hassle, especially since i had my eyes on a different piece with a better merge anyways......i know i adjusted it every way i could, and it still touched a little......it was a PITA and everytime it bumped i hated it, but it all worked out for the best.....true duals now

I agree with lemonhead lol,the merge is the most important part of the y,i dont know how the ps one is these days but last i saw they blow lol, my tsp ory had a good flowmaster type merge,i just was never happy with the y pipe, loved the ory setup with the gmmg but i like my duals more

My pacesetter y-pipe fit perfectly, but the merge was horrible. I would either get the TSP y-pipe or have one custom made like mentioned above.

^^^ he said it was hitting the floorboard... That means it is up to high. When motor mounts are worn out the exhaust will hang and hit the ground... Opposite of what happened to him.

I love my TSP ORY. So easy to put in. I also got a full set of the nice exhaust clamps instead of the D-clamps, so it looks really good and it's still easy to work around.

As it's already been noted...get a different Y-Pipe.

I have a Pacesetter because I wanted to do a full exhaust for cheap, but looking back I would have much rather spent a little bit of extra $$ for fitting and clearance purposes.
