what can causes misfire code?

Exclamation what can causes misfire code?

hey everyone i was just woundering why my car is showing a misfire code?.. i have a 1999 Trans am WS6 with Heads/Cam.. it idols great runs strong for a Heads/Cam untuned for now.. does anyone have any idea what it could be? its going to sound werid i think it might be the cam?. which i am prob wrong?

Begin by looking at the coils/coilpack and spark plugs/spark plug wires

As stated before look to see if the coil pack is arching out, or burnt wire, fouled plug.

When i broke an intake pushrod i got a misfire code. I thought it was kind of humerous, even though this isnt going to help you any!

I do have Fouled spark plugs when i do headers comming up i am of course going to change out the plugs and wire.. i mean it not mis-firing bad. but u it is pulling codes and taking a lot of power from the heads and cam,

^ if it's not tuned, the plugs may be getting fouled and causing a misfire.

i was reading up on the 1999 F-body LS1 and they were saying that the knock sensor go bad or is it get pintched that will cause a mis-fire code.. does anyone know about that problem or can anyone comfirm that it will read a misfire code?

If it's untuned that is almost certainly your culprit. Get the car tuned.

get the car tuned. My car misfired when my o2 sensors got wet. Even if yours didnt get wet, a bad o2 can cause a misfire.

No, that will cause a knock sensor code instead.
