Default 243 coil brackets a must??

Doing a head swap, stock 98 heads going to 243s. I have been looking for coil brackets and 2 people recently told me that you don't have to have them. I looked at my coils and couldn't see a way of hooking them up without brackets. Can someone chime in on this and tell me something either way..

I bought new OEM ones from Hawk's Third Generation. About 40 bucks for the pair. Part number on the box was 12563288.

i think you can pick them up from your local GM dealership, but i'd call and price check first.....also, any decent sized junkyard should have a set
