Anyone know what would cause this to change color like this? Looks like oxidation but not really sure. I've tried everything to get it looking new again with no luck. It's only been on the car for about 600 miles and did this.

Did you clean the engine bay with any degreasers?

Ive seen black anodized turn purplish from heat but this looks like something etched into the finish. I used some degreaser once on my engine bay and was diluted and it made alot of my black anodized parts cloudy.

Something definitely tarnished that. Sucks as that WP is not cheap...

it could be a few different things, bad anodize job,heat,or the degreaser took the finish off. you could take the pump off and have it redone but if you were to do that i think i would go power coat insted of anodize but thats just me. non the less the water pump still works

Never seen that, I do know mine has turned a purplish color over the yrs.

No, my engine bay stays pretty much spotless so no reason to use any type of cleaner. All I ever use is plain water for a rinse off. Plus I haven't had to clean the engine bay since my top-end rebuild last year when I first installed this pump. That's why I'm stumped.

I contacted Meziere and their customer service rocks! They are offering to re-finish it at no cost.
