Default How much nos on a stock ls1 with 164k miles?

I have a 2000 z28,engine is stock, tuned by flaco, has long tube headers, exhaust, 3200 circle d stall, performabuilt stage 2, 373 gears. I will be buying some slicks for the track. The car has 164k miles and it runs perfect, just want to get a little more power without going into motor. What nitrous kit do you reccomend and how big of a shot? Any info will help. I know i will get a new fuel pump and definitely a tune, hopefully by Patrick G. Thanks everyone

With 164K, I wouldn't put a kit on it at all. Maybe it runs perfect now, but if you start spraying it with that many miles, it's on borrowed time.

I actually agree, alot of LS1 are usually safe up to 125 shot with the PROPER TUNING.

That many miles, with a good tune, start out with a 75 or 100, then if you want more, do it. I wouldn't go higher than 150 though unless you're just wanting to blow it up.

It could have 25k on it or 200k you can still blow it up if its not set up right so that argument is dumb. You'll be fine just make sure you have a good tune, and all the proper parts and you'll be good. Start small and work your way up. I wouldn't go past a 150 shot on a stock motor.

Buddy ran 3 bottles of a 100 hit with stock tune and 87 octane gas... Hell first bottle he didn't even change the plugs. Ran awesome and still was when he pulled it.

Miles don't matter.. If everything is still mechanically in good working order it doesn't matter if it is 90K or 150K. I spun a bearing @ 90K miles on motor making 37XRwhp.. So should you not put over bolt ons in a car with over 75K miles?

Be smart about it.

power won't kill it, ESP under 6k rpm. these engines are very forgiving under 6500. I'd spray 150 wet and never look back. good tune is a must.
