grind to make room for LT headers??
I have pacesetter long tube armor coated headers and pacestter off road y pipe waiting to be installed on my 2000 z28 and i was posting to ask if anyone has does this recently and if they had to grind down anything to make room for the new headers? I have heard you do and i have heard you don't i was looking for a definite answer from someone who has done it with my situation. Thanks in advance for any input!

It was rediculous on my m6 car to get the pacesetters out of the car. I can only imagine how much you would have to do if you didn't grind that casting off the block and notch the k member to get it in there. Because I am lazy I ended up cutting the sucker out with a sawzaw I wish you luck!
I just saw that you are using a lift, this will make getting it easier I had to use some 6 ton jack stands. If you end up having to do it on the ground you will need to have it about 2ft up in the air to get them in. I recommend putting a trash back around them so that you don't scratch the armor coating off.

Some headers like said above need some areas grinded on to clear. I installed grots, pacesetters and kooks on various cars and they all needed grinding of some sort. My bbk's and now ARH's both went in without any grinding, even though the arh's are 1-7/8.. you get what you pay for when it comes to the 1-7/8 in terms of fit as they are much tighter than the 1-3/4.
