Default ARP crank bolt stripped/damaged threads

I removed my ARP crank bolt and the end threads were damaged. Im not sure if the threads inside my crank are messed up as well? What would you guys suggest? I have two new TTY GM stock bolts laying around, I could use them and see what happens. Maybe I'll take my old TTY bolt cut a cleaning grove like you do when cleaning head bolt holes out and see what I come up with. Thanks.

This bolt was only use one time.

That's odd...What part # did you use? LS1? or LS7?

I ended up taking an old crank bolt and gringing grooves down it like what you do with head bolts. After a few passes throught the crank it cleaned everything right up.

I assume you used a longer bolt to install your balancer.

No I just used an old stock TTY bolt, I hit the balancer with a dead blow hammer to get it started and to be able to grab some more threads. Next time I would probably just get a longer bolt, if I can find one.

The way you did it and the longer bolt are both the wrong way to do it. Glad you ain't working on my engine.

Can't see pics from phone.. Are you not curious what caused the issue?
