The stock MAF should be fine. Or a Delphi 85mm will work also

I ran the stock maf on my HCI LS1 setup, and it worked great...wasn't restrictive or anything

First I'd ask your tuner what the MAP was reading at WOT, particularly above 4k rpm. I was at 451/415 or so, and at 4300rpm my kPa went to 96.

Ditched the stock MAF, went to a CLSD tune with a 4" piece of aluminum pipe from the SLP lid to the NW 92mm TB, and put down 460/420.

Pulls were done approx 15min apart.

Anyway, what all does your set-up consist of?

I am a believer in do it once and be done. 4" pipe, LS7 MAF and your set for whatever future mods you decide to toss in there

I would ditch the MAF all together and get a SD tune and a 4" piece of silicone tubing to connect the lid to the TB.

I was told by tuner to get ls6 maf.

should I get a bigger lid and maf or just go the ls6 maf route.
will bigger maf make more power?

The dr there has your answer. You need a scan of the engine now at WOT. If you see anything less than atmospheric pressure when you do, you'll see gains from an increase in size. If you see less, your dealing with restriction robbing you of potential HP and TQ.
