Default FAST LSX Manifold results

We finally managed to do some back to back testing on my 427 with a modified LS6 manifold with 90 mm TB and a 90 mm lsx manifold and TB.

1) On the modified ls6 we saw 10 rwhp gains with some marginal gains down low we were only seeing about 97/98 map max with this manifold.

2) LSX 90 mm we picked up 38 rwhp but what was great was the curve was increased by at least 16 rwhp across the range. Were before we ran out of air at 5500 rpm this manifold managed to deliver to the limiter at 6400 rpm.

Basically we saw a 10 % increase across the whole range.

This is an unmodified manifold the above was with tuning as a bolt on we picked up 24 rwhp.

Gains are all over the place with the LSX manifolds...glad to see it worked for you!

How did the torque curve look? Did it also improve across the board or was id adversely affected in the low range?

We had improvement across the board TQ was increased every were but then again it is a 427 motor just happy that it actually worked on a large cube motor.

Can you post the graph? What size MAF and Air lid are you using with the LSX 90/90?

25rwhp on a 427 seems to be the norm. I think it's worth the money for that gain. And I'll get it when I stop hearing about quality control issues. It seems to be hit or miss if you get a good one or not. It will be a good peice when the bugs are worked out. I too am curious of the gains using a larger MAF and a bigger lid like the TSP.

wow thats awesome, I'm with 11bravo, once the quality control issues have been ironed out I might spring for one of these intakes as well.

Sounds good to me, I am thinking of going with one soon. I have a ported and port matched Holley/Lingenfelter intake. I think the LSX will be a little better.

I can post graph latter today , we used a LSX 90 mm with a 94 mm Starr TB

This is a mafless set up using a over the radiator intake system with custom radiator on these aussie cars we dont have as much space in front of the motor.

u must not know how to look for prices its not that much. and every little bit helps i think for that much power its good. gives you more room to work with now that the engine gets air. good gains

We dont use Dynojet here in Aust but with a conversion factor we would be reading 500rwhp. This car is an auto with stally, dynos are only for tuning we have had this car at the track and will be going again within the week to see the difference. Our race wieght is 3950lbs

Well thats subjective isnt it, but when you cant push enough air through a LS6 and have a big cube motor I think you would be pretty happy with the result.

I was.

To keep it NA there wasnt much choice left except for 1)custom manifold $3000 2) Eight TB $4500

From the testing we have seen over here I dont believe I would have seen the extra gains that would have warranted going this way.

The 8 Throttle bodies are still of interest to me,and I might try them at alatter stage
