Default long tube headers

I have a set of pacesetter longtubes and ypipe on my car now they were black at one point all the paint has burned off and they look terrible its almost as much to have them coated as it would be to buy a new set whats the best header and ypipe setup on the market?

Speed Engineering has a pretty screaming deal on their stainless header/y combo. Look them up.

304 stainless steel headers are the way to go imo. I have kooks but there's other great brands too.

That black is just to keep 'em from rusting while awaiting sale. Could just hit 'em w/high temp header paint. Personally, I'd use 'em 'till they rust through.

Default Headers

You could wrap them with the heat shield stuff.

Kooks or ARH if price is no issue. TSP if you're on a budget. I bought TSP 1 & 7/8" headers before I went to Kooks, it's a nice piece for the price.

Pay the extra money and buy stainless, and never worry about rusty headers ever again.

Whats the point? TSP and Speed Engineering headers are both made of 304 stainless steel and are cheaper than any ceramic headers that I know of, and most ceramic headers will eventually rust. Also buy a new y pipe with the headers, Pacesetter's y pipe has a terrible merge, I'd bet you gain close to 10 hp from swapping just that y pipe.

they will still rust if used in the wet, especially down around the collectors

no point in not buying stainless these days as TSP and Speed Engineering both have good deals on them

Agreed! When i bought some hooker headers they where black. I sanded them down byv hand and ceramic painted them. Paint still holding good.

I bought tsp 1 7/8"...but speed engineering headers are the same for much cheaper. Hard to beat them for the price.

I've have Jet Hot 1 3/4 long tubes on since 2006. Great build quality...the coating is starting to peel on the collectors. I'm using a Mufflex Y-pipe... I was originally told that it wouldn't fit...not true...bolted right up to the headers.

As for headers in general... I'd say as long as what you're looking for matches your combo its a matter of personal preference.
