I'd stick with the stock TB, and put the money towards other modifications.
So what mods have you done so far?

Agreed. Money is much better spent getting your stock TB ported.

Put your money towards a higher(3600) stall TC in your A4 transmission, or a TA relocation cross member.

If you are asking me than no it's out of Texas if I remember correct. Was like a $100. From what I could tell Shaner did the best overall work on these TB's, so that's why I chose them

Hey 99Bluz28, dr_whigham ? For buddy35thle combo you recomend a ported 75mm stock TB. What I'm wondering is, at what point does the 80mm start making sense ?
https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...-question.html
I saw this thread but still can't wrap my head around the time the cam/ head cfm would suggest a benefit of larger TB. Also, would buddy35thle benefit from going to a 85mm MAF and Fast Toys lid ?

I would just make sure you're getting a actual ported factory gm tb, sometimes lower quality oem knock-offs are used, so regardless of who you get a ported tb from verify it first.

A little known fact is that you can get a throttle body from an LQ4/LQ9 truck that comes standard at 80mm. Just be sure to take dial calipers with you and measure the back side to be sure it's the correct size. You can usually find them at the boneyard pretty cheap and have that ported if you want an 80mm. I have yet to see a good aftermarket 80mm TB. In all honesty though you wouln't notice a difference between the stock 78 ported and the 80mm ported. When people ask us about porting TBs and Intakes we usually recommend Peak Speed Shop. They are a sponsor on here.

Well never heard of anyone using a truck tb on LS1 . isnt the throttle cam different and it has a coolant tube. Is it a direct swap or have to tune for it ?

The cam size is different but if your vehicle was equipped with traction control then your throttle cable length is adjustable. It can be a direct swap. I did it several times back in the day. Your stock TB has a coolant tube as well. All you have to do is run a coolant bypass.

98-99 F-body and 99-03 truck throttle body cams are the same shorter style. 00-02 F-body has a longer cam.

I have a truck throttle body on my LS6 intake in my L33 swapped Camaro.
