Removing tips be noticeable?
Right now I've got a dumped borla xr1 and I'm gonna put the rest of a loudmouth catback on it and make a borla mouth to tone the car down inside however I don't want tips on the car. If I just leave them off will they be noticeable or do I need to stay dumped if I want no tips. I don't want to leave tips off and it look like a hack job.

Gotcha! Well I did that a while back and hated it and here is why...first you can still see the piping from the rear of the car if you are far back enough and it looks like *** IMO since the diameter is small and isn't a sharp looking rolled or slashed type cut like a good tip is. Secondly, it actually made the cam sound much quieter which I didn't like either. That's just my experience and opinion

I wonder if I cut the pipe at a angle just after the bends as it starts to straighten out if it would still be noticeable. I may just have to find some tips I like or leave it the way it is.

This is what I was looking for. I'll just get some 3" bends and take it over the axle and out the driver side. I never really thought about it. I've got the same set up on a T/A in 4" with dummy tips. Then worst case I can add another muffler at the back to quieten it down even more.

I don't mind how it looks now dumped at the axle. I want exhaust coming all the way out of the car so it'll quieten it down inside mainly. On the interstate its kinda loud inside. Right now its got headers into the ory pipe, then a I coming back to the back seat area with a borla xr1 dumped just under the back seat. I'm gonna add a 3" 45 degree bend after the muffler to start it over the rear end then another 90 degree to go over the rearend and start to come down then throw another 90 on it and point it back toward the driver side of the car and throw on another 90 to have one tailpipe coming out on the driver side of the car and tuck it up under the bumper and paint it black. Same set up as the mufflex just with 3" pipe. I did this on my Trans am in 4" a while back. I don't know why I just never thought of it for this car.

Nice look Mazzenger. Exhaust is a necessary evil and not made to look like the top side of car, just got to make the best of it, I guess. I despise any kind of tip on these cars.(just an opinion) If I wanted "smoke stacks", I would've bought a semi. Tuck them up as far as you can and cut them flush with the bumper. I still have the the stock exhaust/tips on my DD Camaro and it's about to run me nuts!

Yes, you are so right. Should've been specific. The TA has the area for tips to be exposed, not plumbing hanging from the ceiling in a parking garage, like a Camaro. Which I own.
