Yeah, I know what you mean about being bored. The only thing about polishing the front/rear and valve covers is that the castings are very porous and it's impossible to make them look perfect. I powder coated mine.

Lol i used 250 and a da and theres still some spots.. i dont even really like polished aluminium anyhow.. its to hard to maintain

I may sand it back down and do it this color... and mabey sand the hi spots back to alluminium? Hmmm

I painted my cover only to realize you can't see it at all once the engine is in the car.

I can never get paint to stick very well to Aluminum for very long. I've given up trying.

I just use Krylon satin black...if it's clean I've never had an issue. No prep other than cleaning with Super Clean.
