Default ported TB now pedal is stiff

I ported and lightly polished my TB and did the half shaft mod now the pedal is a little stiff when i first press it then its fine. it only does it when car is running otherwise its smooth and normal. what could cause that? am thinking the lid has some room for adjustment and could be slightly off centre? or am i missing something while reassembling? the TB is absolutely fine when car is off. i followed the write ups and didnt touch where the lid closes and i have zero idling/driveablity issues.

am suspecting either the lid has to be reassembled OR the shaft has to be pressed/hammered in place? i did place the O-ring back on. any suggestions would be appreciated thanks.

EDIT: I didnt do the knife edge. wasnt too comfortable doing that.

Sounds like the throttle plate isn't perfectly centered on the shaft. I've heard it was a common issue when you've half-shafted your tb.

exactly my thought. i took it out and had to test fit it a couple of times..seems to open and close smoother now! i will go try it on the car and see how it goes. btw if i adjusted the screw will the motor compensate? meaning, i wont have higher idle? looks like if i opened up the screw a tiny little bit all this issue will go. thanks.

Your talking about the butterfly in the tb? I sent my tb out for porting and received it back w/ the same problem. I was told to tighten the screw in the front but it still sticks at the top of the pedal. I guess I have to remove the tb and send it back to the porter?

No, just loosen the screws and re-center it. Then tighten them back up when it's adjusted.

I've ported a dozen ls1 throttle body's and half of them had to have the blade screws loosened a second time to center it.

am not sure if they call it that lol its the plate that closes the TB. its held by 2 screws, unbolt them or loosen them and adjust the plate to where it no longer touches the TB walls. mine made a little sound at closure and now its gone.

Big thank you, do you have to remove the throttle body to do this?

definitely. before you remove the plate listen to it carefully while it closes, that can give you a hint of its contacting the TB. then remove the 2 small screws and adjust. man i could feel a difference! it made more difference that having the LS6 intake swap. am impressed.
