Default Help needed with FAST 92 Intake Install

I'm trying to install a new FAST 92 Intake on a 2004 Corvette Coupe and the back of the intake is hitting the firewall right at the top of the intake runner. I'm about 1/4 inch shy of being far enough back to bolt it down. I need a little help with this one.

I should state that I have Tony Mamo's new 220 heads which could make a difference from stock heads. I've also removed the plastic push pin in the wiper cowl to alleviate that problem and I did replace the valley cover bolts with the ones supplied with the FAST.

Disregard the ravings of a lunatic! I removed the MAP sensor and the intake slides into place nicely. I guess I'll be ordering a MAP sensor relocation kit.

Should not need to with a Fbody. I have my map in the factory location on my 92 and have plenty of clearance.

Default Here's the fix in case someone else ever needs it!

I got the intake to fit this morning by grinding off a reinforcing rib at the back of the intake where the MAP sensor struck it. The left photo shows the back of the intake where the rib was removed. The second photo shows the sensor laid back against the intake. The little bit of plastic I removed allowed the intake to slide into place with the the MAP sensor in the original location. I cleaned up the jagged edges so it would look clean but that part of the intake isn't visible once installed anyway.

You most likely will. Google 'fast 102 on c5 corvette' and you'll find more info. The FAST fits some care nicely and others require some adjustments to make them fit. Good luck with it!

Mine's a F-body, but here is how I solved it. Sort of a similar approach. The contours of the manifold make it so if I mounted it "properly" it hits the firewall, but going vertical put 2" of clearance back there:

Mounted the MAP vertically using a washer stack to help hold it in place. Pretty simple solution to the firewall interference

Looks like my 102 will require the same ingenuity. Great info. Going to have to do some more "googling"
