pro and cons deleting air pump 2002 firehawk
Is there any gains deleting the air pump. I know engine light will come on if its removed. Do i need to take to a specialist to delete the code, it has to pass emissions. Up here there is no smog test, they plug into obd11 port.

You won't pick up horsepower, but there is weight reduction for removing it. And you don't have to listen to that screeching noise at start up. You will have to have the code deleted or buy HPTuners

I have found no downsides to it. The only thing it's for,
is to light off the cats and improve after-start emissions
as quick as possible. If cats are gone, so is its purpose.
There are a few related codes to suppress but that's
easy money.

Pros: Weight loss, clears up space.
Cons: ....... None.
I don't really remember, but I think you'll need to delete the DCT's for it in order to not get an SES light.
I got half way through removing mine and drive it with only the pump and half of the hose still connected. Sounded like a jet preparing for take off lol.
