Default TBSS Intake onto ls1 in C5

Having a hard time finding info on anything like this so.

Looking into going to a TBSS Intake set up.
I am interested in this over a ls6 intake.

My plans for the car can be found here https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...-opinions.html

My idea of the TBSS intake comes from hotrods testing.

http://www.hotrod.com/features/1507-...ifolds-tested/

"Unlike the LS6 that matched the power of the LS1 down low (then took off), the TBSS intake offered more power and torque everywhere. By making more torque than the truck intake and more power than the LS6, the TBSS offered the best of both worlds."

To me a TBSS intake looks to have height between ls1 and 5.3 truck. Am I Wrong?
I know my coworker clears a mid rise Lingenfelter / Holley manifold with out any modifications.

Thoughts get complete TBSS intake, injectors, fuel rail, throttle body. This has been found for $250.
Injector harness or pigtails$ 19
Tps/motor pigtail (update)
looks like I can use Caspers Electronics 108115J LS2 TO LS1 Throttle Body Adapter Harness. $44

Where a ls6 in $300-400
And reuses rail, injectors,tb. Now I can sell my ls1 manifold complete (-$200?)

Concerns.
Coolant cross over piping?
Clearance

Will update as I go.
Thanks

As it's taller than the LS1/6 intake, you may have clearance issues.

It has more space under it so you'll be able to retain your four corner cooling-a good thing!

Space in a C5 is tight. Pretty sure just from how tall I percieve the TBSS intake being (never actually had one) it woundnt fit under a stock C5 hood. Almost nothing does really other then a fast

Update:
After asking around the c5 forum and Facebook pages I was quick to get the same professionally worded answer.

"That wolnt ******* fit" "buy an ls6" "tbss is junk"

Yup digging into my own research looking at multiple photos and findingout you can't barely get the stock intake out, looks like this is a no.

Ohh well.

Doorman ls6 intake for $280 new it is.

While the Dorman LS6 manifold looks "right", it's been shown to not quite be up to the original GM manifold's quality.

I'd go with a fast 92/92 setup any day on that car. That being said if you are dead set on an ls6 intake I have a really clean one off of my car with a ported stock tb. Pm me if your interested

Exactly. Grab the plug and play FAST 92 and port it. Worth it in the end.

Thanks for the opinions on the fast.

At this time I'm going to stick to the ls6.
Heres why,
At 300 I can always sell it when I want more.
I'm afraid of over powering the car.
Was doing a good job of looping it last year on the track.

Would rather invest the $1200 in to tires and sway bars.
Moneys tight when you want to buy a house before 24. Haha.
