Default FAST 102mm w/ Accel 44lb/hr Injectors

Anyone running this combination? It came to my attention over the weekend via another thread that the fatter style injectors won't work with the FAST 102mm intake. My Accel 44lb/hr injectors are the fatter, non-pencil, style. The guy in the other thread said you can make the fatter style injectors work, but you'd have to grind on the FAST 102mm intake. Just curious what everyone else did that's running the fatter style injectors.

Good luck with your search. Its ridiculous the lack of clear, concise information about what options go with what on the FAST 102. Even some of the vendors selling the setups don't know how to provide support for questions, as I found out today.

Once you find your combo that works, join me in creating a thread with exact details. I'll be doing that soon.

Will do. Honestly trying to determine if the FAST 102 is worth the headache over the FAST 92.

Not sure the "style" of my injectors, but with the fat bottom O rings Fast sells for the injectors, my 36 lb injectors worked fine in my 102. Also had to use the spacer to raise the fuel rails some.

Here is a picture of the injectors I have. I'm wondering if there is some type of spacer that you can run to make the injector clear the intake?

No. I believe the injectors are rubbing on the top half of the intake. New injectors or a little clearancing is probably the only option

Aside from the cosmetic difference, grinding on the polymer intake so the intake will clear the injectors isn't going to affect the intake from a reliability/performance standpoint?

I've read several threads where guys did that and didn't see any reported issues. Why don't you just sell your injectors and buy some that won't require modification to the manifold? The difference might not be much, or maybe even gain a few $ if you went with a smaller one like my 36lb. I'm just guessing, I don't know how much yours could sell for.

For what I paid for them (they were brand new when I bought them), I'm sure I could make money on the deal because I got a hell of a deal. That thought had crossed my mind, but not I'd prefer to keep them and make them work with whatever intake I decide on. Down the road, the car will be getting a D1SC Procharger, and I know I'll have to swap out injectors at that time, so if I could find a good deal on a set of 80 lb/hr injectors, I might do that.

I think you can get 80lb Siemens for like $250 new now a days.

And I don't see it affecting the way it performs at all if you clearance the intake for the injectors.

That seems like a really good deal on the Siemens 80lb injectors. Here is another question; is that too much injector for my NA setup, as it's going to remain NA until I get more funds for the Procharger setup?

THIS ^^^^

The FAST 102 is designed for the taller style (thinner) injectors....the "fat" style injector like the one pictured above will not fit without grinding on the intake.....not sure exactly how much grinding is required cause I always source the correct style injector but I have heard a few guys have done that.

Sounds a bit hack IMO.....I would just sell the fat injectors and get the correct plug and play style injector right for the application.
