Does anyone have LT no cats and a magnaflow cat back if so did you get rid of that horrible tinney sound
Any sugestions would be helpfull I want to keep as much of the airflow as i can and get a deep idle and crusing speed sound and hve that Nascar sound at WOT.

I ditched the flowmaster 80 for a magnaflow muffler,it sounds much better at normal driving and WOT is awesome.Midrange rasp is still there like when you get aggressive and shift at 3k.I'm installing an 18" bullet tomorrow. We shall see.

I just made this change. Do it you won't be disappointed. My car was insanely loud with a high stall and LM/ORP and headers, heads and pretty big cam, and now its very quiet(compared to the LM, you can actually have a conversation in the car without raising your voice) when driving around town, but once you get on it, it gets LOUD.

I have Macs, no cats, and I went from loudmouth to magnaflow.
It is DEFINITELY a huge improvement. No more dreaded "drone" while cruising, but it still rasps during heavy throttle between 2200-2500 rpms... If your setup is rasping a lot and you want to get of that, then magnaflow won't help much. If you want to quiet down "normal" driving, but be loud when you get on it, then Magnaflow is the was to go!

I have the Magnaflow with long tube headers and ORY plus a cam. It sounded horrible when I first put it on to replace a loudmouth. Really nice idle, really nice cruise and WOT, but from 2k to 3k it sounded like a freaking dump truck. I hated to drive the car. I bought a 12" dynomax bullet, welded it in the I pipe and now it is sounds great. The bullet made all the difference in the world. I wish I had gone with an 18" or a Borla XR1, but I am very happy with the Magnaflow. If you get it, just plan on getting a bullet at the same time.

In my experience, the combination of Loudmoth and offroad Y pipe was intolerable. It was INSANELY loud..like NASCAR loud. If you gave the car any throttle at all, people from 10 blocks away new.
Switched to a Corsa (similiar in sound to Magnaflow) and added Random Tech bullet cats. The car sounds great with no rasp. There is really no way to eliminate the rasp in the offroad pipe unless you go with cats or high flow bullets. Personally, I couldn't live with the rasp but some people don't mind it. I sacrificed a few HP for better sound quality.

I installed the 18" dynomax bullet in the I pipe tonight and now I have the sound I wanted. There is rasp under heavy throttle around 2400 but you almost have to make it rasp.Took the wife for a ride and shes extatic about it and shes a tough customer.

I Just installed Flowtech Headers today. My Magnaflow will be here on Monday. Until then it'll be gutted Cats on the Stock muffler. You won't be disappointed with the Magnaflow.
