400+rwhp LQ4 in Rx7 suggestions
setup
90 RX7 FC GTU 2700lbs
engine
2007 chevy express LQ4 6.0l
factory tune
CAI
factory maf
aermotive 340lph
c5 FPR
drivetrain
T56 mild build
centerforce dual friction clutch
aluminum flywheel
aluminum driveshaft (C4)
4.10 gear with LSD
this setup (stock) dynod at 301/319 SAE corrected on a mustang dyno set to read on inertia
heres a link to my 1/4 mile on dyno vid supposedly it ran a 12.4 @114 mph according to dyno.
my plan is to hit 400+whp on stock 317s untouched with a cam and bolt ons........heres the plan
-stock truck intake ported
-ported or larger tb
-ms3 cam kit? after much debate after reading this thread http://www.norotors.com/index.php?topic=7492.0 i prefer to stay away from issues like that
-1 3/4in longtube headers 3 inch collectors
- i prefer to not add arp rod bolts just stock rod bolts
- i don't need some torquey down low cam this car will be used for road racing and drifting and weekends only, i also would like a cam with a choppy idle if possible
- no n2o !
is this possible for this setup ? I've seen similar setups go 390whp
is this enough to get a 2700b car with traction into the 11's?
recommendations ? suggestions?
car just doesn't feel fast at all and i don't know if what i have planned out will be enough really debating on pulling this motor and going with a 4.8l turbo setup to achieve 400+whp but i absolutely love drivability and reliability or NA setups

Oh yeah it's plenty big enough.
However lq4's have pretty low compression to start with and if you start throwing big cams at that it can lower your dynamic compression even further making it quite soggy down low.
A set of 799 heads will gain you a point or so of static compression and they're cheap. Get ported ones and throw in an ms3 and you should be looking at 10's all day with that light car.

yeah a bit of change in plans, realized its kind of a waste not to run different heads.
243 heads or 799
Ms3 cam kit with springs push rods etc
Nick williams 102mm (just bought today)
chevy qualifier 96mm intake ported to match TB
ls3 42lb injectors, what adaptor hardness do i use from truck wiring to ls3 injector ? ev1 to ev3?
longtube headers 1 3/4
this setup should put me well into the 10s and maybe even 450whp
