Stock ls1= garbage
Stock lq9= less garbage but still garbage
If you want the best and money is no object, a FAST lsxr-t is it. If you want a little lesser intake but still a good upgrade over the other stock ones you mentioned a TBSS/NNBS intake is a very good upgrade for the money.
FAST is roughly $1000 by the time you get intake, rails adaptors, usually find them used for 700 ish
NNBS intakes are generally pretty cheap, $100-200 complete
Tbss intake are usually a little more $200-300

Stock Ls1 car intake is the worst.
Truck intakes are much better. They offer the most power under the curve and are on par is the LS6 intake which is the best of the factory offerings for cars. TBSS intake is the best truck intake but the newer truck intakes are basically the same thing. TBSS intakes are truck intakes with the larger TB openings that's all. To say they are garbage is ridiculous. Look up the car craft comparison of all the LS intakes. Truck intakes even surprised then!
FAST is the top but going to cost u the most. Personally I like power below 5500 and that's why I rock the truck intakes as they are the best of the OE. Reason is trucks aren't limited by low hood lines and therefore have taller intakes/longer runners and allow more room for better designs.
Holley intakes are also very good. But I prefer plastic intakes due to very low heat transfer and low heat soak. This leaves you with OE and fast and MSD. Truck intakes are the best bang for the buck. If u can't fit a truck intake then go LS6, if u got the coin and want max high rpm power go fast or MSD.

Just Reread and saw this is going in a truck. Leave the truck intake alone. Or swap it to the fast truck intake but it's not going to get much better than that. Your already ahead of the game with the truck intake.

Like mentioned above I would leave the stock intake alone or if its in the budget go with a FAST LSXRT intake.

Im running now LS1 intakemanifold & throttlebody
The heada are small - I don't need for a big intakemanifold if there is a 80mm or 85 its big but so good
I can't go with LSXT 102mm because its so big

Ok so your running a LS1 intake and LS1 78mm tb ,is that right. Well still not sure what your goal is and your budget because you didn't answer that . But still need to know more info like ..... your 2004 Sierra should be dbw tb originally , and now your running a LS1 tb dbc is that right ? Are you using truck accessories , and that is the reason you don't want to go bigger , you mentioned LSXT 102mm . If you have clearance concerns because of truck accessories and don't want to change, please lmk.
