Default StainlessWorks Longtube Headers, Feedback & Dyno Results

For those of you that are still trying to figure out which Longtube header is the best, here's my vote, with some "evidence" to back it up:

I dyno'ed the car again on Monday 6/28/04 to see how much the Stainless-Works Headers and some custom tuning have helped the Hawk....

'02 Firehawk, M6. 345hp package.
Basic small bolt-ons (see sig, STOCK MAF)

Here was my baseline from last summer (after installation of LS6-cam & Predator Tune):

342 rwhp
324 ft-lbs torque

A/F was a pig-rich at 11.3:1 and had 3-4 deg of knock retard. Ugh.

Now, fast-forward to 2004....

Only new mod-addition was the installation of StainlessWorks Longtube Headers + Random-Tech high-flow cats. Everything else remained the SAME from my '03 dyno. In addition, I've spent quite some time tuning-in my setup with the Predator Programmer & the help of James' (RWTD) custom tunes.

NEW FOR '04 RESULTS (LS6-Cam, StainlessWorks LT Headers + Tuned):

378 RWHP
367 FT-LBS Torque

12.8:1 A/F ratio

30 degrees of timing and NO knock-retard!

From the addition of Headers & Tuning, How's a gain of 36 rwhp & 43 ft-lbs sound? YEAH!!

All I can say is STAINLESSWORKS HEADERS ARE AWESOME ! ! ! ! !

Seriously, if anyone is considering going with longtube headers, you MUST give StainlessWorks a call. Their fit is excellent, quality is top-notch, 304L stainless steel, and they make some serious horsepower. Granted, some of the power gains were from tuning, but these headers have TOTALLY brought this car alive. The sound is GREAT thru the SLP dual/dual exhaust, no rasp, no annoying drone. Their Y-pipe does NOT bang on the floorboards. What else can you ask for?!??

Tell Al Noe that Mike K. said "Thank-you!" when you call him.... Linky is ----->

I'm so geeked.

Any pics of the headers and the Y pipe?

You had an LS6 cam already installed, those gains are normal for LS6 cammed cars. with a tune. Anybody correct me if I'm wrong ?????.

Thank you, I've been waiting for some solid #'s on these headers, I tried asking if anyone thought that the 2 1/2 inch collectors on those would hurt hp at all, guess not.

Sorry, no pics of the headers/Y-pipe uninstalled.

FBodman - Go for these headers. Very solid numbers, indeed. You won't be disappointed!!

If memory serves they are $1199 (maybe $1299?) including Random-Tech cats / Y-pipe.
