Default Header Advice Needed

One of the next things for my ride is a set of new headers. What do you all recommend for a set of good and (fairly) cheap headers to really boost performance?

jrp !! Definately read the "sticky" post on exhaust.

It all depends on how much $$ and how much performance you want.

If you have the cash for good stainless I'd go with Kooks or QTP.

For value-minded but still nice LTs I'd go JetHot, for budget LTs Pacesetter.

Mac makes a good midlength header (that's what I have) that doesn't give up all that much compared to long tubes.

Stay away from shorties unless you are worried about emissions and just like spending money on car parts and don't care about the results. Shorties are a little better gain for pre-01 cars, '01 and '02 got a little better factory manifold design.

Good luck,

Get Kooks, they are the best. Don't save $100 and get junk. TTP has the best price and they are a sponsor.

You are correct, the better exhaust manifolds were added for the 2000 model year.
'00-'02 are better flowing than '98/'99.

Also call TSP, they have a Kooks special going on. Great pricing too.
