Exclamation New Bbk Ssi Intake Info!!

Sorry if you guys have already heard this, but I figured I'd share it anyways.
My friend was at the SEMA show yesterday and talked to the BBK rep for me about the new SSI intake, and this is what he said - "I picked up 17 rwhp on my stock 02 Z06, we picked up 27 rwhp over the LS1 intake on a 99 T/A."
I would have to assume that those #s included the use of their tb.
He also said that they will be available for sale within a month in a satin finish, with a retail price in the mid $400 range.
The chrome/polished version will be available in January, no price was given.

That is what I am waiting on. I cant really justify the price of the Fast 90/90. So as soon as we have dyno #'s to confirm what the rep said, I am all over it. The guy at BBK I talked to said they are also planning to release a TB that is 85mm to be a direct match to the intake.

Fingers crossed for the working man.

They took too long to get the product out on the market. I've been reading about the intake since early summer. I couldn't wait any longer and got a FAST 90 about a month ago.

I hope the BBK intake is good, it looks like a promising combo with their TB.

wonder if a little port work would allow a 90mm to fit?

Yeah, I'm anxious to see some dyno results also. I'd really like to see how it compares to the LS6 being that I have one already. I think the 85mm tb option (if they do it) would be good competition for the FAST 90mm. I'd like to see a side by side dyno comparison between those 2.

I was waiting in this too but after reviewing the part they had on display at SEMA I just walked away. It just looked cheap, it was poorly constructed and although it was zip tied to something I could still lift it up a bit and it was extremely heavy. I guess I'll wait for the dyno's but the FAST/Nick Williams seems to be the best combo on the market.

ummm, can you say heat soak? Composite/Plastic Intakes are way better!

If you really just want the chrome look, you can get your plastic intake chrome plated, check out: www.hotrodlane.cc
