ws6 hood baffles
i took the baffles out of my hood over the summer for a direct flow to the lid. not such a good idea. obviously i cant drive the car in the rain any more. if i glue the back baffle back in place (the long piece engine side) and leave the front 2 that cover the nostrils off the car, am i leaving enough protection against rain water?

I ran my car for three years without baffles and never had a problem with rain. Torrential downpours or light sprinkling. The filter will stop all of it unless you are going through some deep puddles. And as long as you didn't seal the two drain holes...you should be fine.

Most people cut those baffles out without issue.
Next, you need a BG Ram Air kit. Speed Inc sells them now I beleive.
Great kit, I loved mine for the 4 years I had my WS6.....

I've run no baffles on my Firehawk hood for months now and I've never had any issues with it. I've even driven it through a touchless car wash with high pressure water spraying over the entire car, left it running the whole time, no problems. You can't get more extreme water hitting the hood than a car wash and if that didn't do anything, nothing will.

I have had mine out for years too - no issues. If anyone wants a write-up on making your own hood to airbox seal for about $7 and some time, PM me your e-mail address and I'll send the article to you. I posted this before and some have used it - I think it works great and saves a bunch of money compared to the high dollar kits out there.
