I was kind of wanting some more info on this also. I have a 98 model with perimeter valve covers and just purchased new heads with the centerbolt design and shaft mounted rockers, wondering what to do for valve covers and if sheetmetal, what to do with the coils.. Any info would be appreciated.

I already have relocated my coils off of the valve covers you just need longer length plug wires and to extend the wireing harness to coils

You need an LS6 style valley pan/cover. The LS6 pulls the vac. from beneath the intake instead of a valve cover. A little grinding of the block is required, but it's a pretty simple task. They're $40-50 from a few sponsers here.

...or get the covers drilled for breathers and get a billet specialist's breather form one side and a matching PCV for the other. Summitracing has them!! Then you can run the PCV to a catch can.

Having one PCV valve and one breather negates the point of a PCV system as it'd be open to pulling air straight from the atmosphere via breather on the other side. That'd give you both a higher idle speed and incorrect Mass air reading. A breather in each cover or just one in one cover would make sense...
You can run the LS6 valley pan with a puke can just as easily...You want all the negative crankcase pressure you can get. Just going to zero or slightly positive with a breather wouldn't be the best idea.
