Question macs vs. long tubes

i have the mac mids right now and i made 375rwhp and 372rwtq. mods are:lid, pp tb, maf, ls6 intake, comp xe-r 224 cam, mac mids, true duals. and i ran a 12.7@108 weight was 3928 with 180lbs driver. i was woundering is it worth it to change to long tubes or not just had soem questions on that so if anyone can help do so thanks.

I'd say keep the MAC's. They are great headers. With LT's you MIGHT gain about 5hp peak and a little more down low. If you have a little extra time and money on your hands then go ahead and get LT's, but it really won't be worth it IMO. Also, you can have the 2.5" ball couplers on the MAC's cut off and some 3" ones put on to help them perform a lot better.

I would stick with the Macs i am running them and very happy. Big Mike in the eastern forum went 9's on Macs i'd say unless you were upping your motor size to stick with the Macs they perform just about as well as LT's

I had Macs before and I really did not like them but switching to a long tube you are not going to gain that much. It just depends on how much money you want to spend.

Why didn't you like them? I plan on getting some mac's with their off-road pipe due to budget and not needing to squeeze out every pony.....yet.

Yeah I have macs on my car right now but Im really not going to do anything internal to the motor yet. I was also thinking about getting some LT. Im wondering how much I would actually pick up also. Right now im around 330rwhp and 341tqrw. The best part would be more torque down low.

I have the MAC's too. I'm very happy with them. The ground clearance is great too. My car is lowered.

My 98Z woke up BIG time with MACs. Way above my expectations, especially down low where I didn't expect it. When my MACS take a **** (uncoated), I will go to LT's, but I am in no hurry to get to that point.
