Default Engine Block Heater

I dont know where else to post this...

Do our cars have an engine block heater?

I thought I read somewhere they do, but when I try to search for "block heater" I get results from people talking about their engine block or people with a heater problem.

Thx,
Nate

Yes, they do.

You can order them from any GM dealer. They screw into one of the brass coolant plugs on the block. They are to be plugged in after driving your car so that you can maintain the heat easier. It takes MUCH longer for the heater to heat the block with the engine cold.

I called 3 dealers in my area and they gave me GM part no. 12371540 and prices ranged from $26.00 - $31.72 plus tax

The part no. 12367827 wasnt in there system. Might just be an old number.

I have one in my car I bought from NAPA. It screwed in the front left freeze plug. I use it all the time. It will heat the motor to 120 degrees in 3 hrs. I always plug it in before starting unless it's a hot summer.

That may be. I use the part # I gave about about a year ago and it worked.
