Default New SLP Throttle Body

Has anyone tried the new SLP throttle body? I just bought one but I wanted to see if anyone found any gains/improvement.

Most of the sites I have been to want $125+. Then you must send yours to them or pay a core charge. For $170.oo I get a brand new one and no core charge. The holes were not filled or drilled but I can do that myself. Now I have a spare TB to play with.
I agree with you guy about SLP. However, for the price you really can't beat it.

What holes are you talking about, filling and drilling? Sounds kinda funny to fill something just to drill it...

SLP is a sponsor, BTW.

The big gap thas right there in the pic. You fill it solid with epoxy, then drill two holes. One for idle air, the other for the IAC motor. I do it with all my tb's. And yes.....you could have gotten it for less than $170 outright.

that throttle body doesnt have **** done to it really, just slp on top and a small port job. you can do that by hand in an hour or 2 even if its your first time. you get that and you pretty much get a stock tb with 30 bucks of work. i did that to my old one and then some and sold it for 35 bucks and got the guys old one. i really wish noone would waste their time with slp. they make it sound like they are the ultimate aftermarket modding place and all they do is stupid things to stock pieces. take for example their panhard bar. they take a factory piece, prob just one that was over produced and they got from gm, and put a piece of steel on the back and paint it and then sell it for way too much.

My brother got one, I tried to tell him not to but he likes to waste money. I had an extra TB so there wouldn't have even been any down time. It looks like they just painted the outside because in the cracks I can see where paint is flaking off

i dont see what he big deal with the slp tb is, a ported tb is a ported tb, but for being able to just get the tb with out a core charge, makes it a lot easier, most likely i will get the slp in the summer and i will be able to screw around my stock tb...

I know a lot of people feel the SLP is overrated and overpriced. They have good marketing and a well recognized name. But, bottom line, will it show some kind of improvement?
