The WS6 muffler is supposed to be better flowing, but personally I think that's only because it has larger tailpipe outlets than the base Z28/TA system. I can't remember if the I-pipe is any bigger, but I know the tail pipes are (2.25" vs. 2.5").

The muffler itself is supposed to be less restrictive than the regular TA muffler.

Well, I've had a reg TA and WS6 and the WS6 exhaust has a better tone IMHO. I don't remember the TA sounding as good as the WS6, but it has been almost 2 yrs since I heard the TA. FWIW the WS6 seems to be a bit louder. Don't worry about the difference between stock crap and buy an aftermarket system. If you changed to a WS6 catback you'll be dissapointed in the small difference.

I believe the catbacks are the same and the manifolds are what is different and better flowing with the WS6. Not a 100% sure though.

This is incorrect. Same manifolds, different catbacks.
