The only batteries that are significantly lighter than a stock battery are the dynabat and the generic one that is made by the people that make the dynabats, forgot the name. You will need a bracket made to mount it in the stock location though, but you could just relocate the stock on to the rear if you want to remove weight from the front of the car for alot less.

Here's the battery I have: http://www.gotbatteries.com/Productp...ctNum=37L105S1
So far no problems with starting or running the battery down although I do not run my fans with the engine off for very long.
Very simple to make this bracket from aluminum: http://www.mustangmods.com/data/440/battery.jpg
I can go back to a factory style battery in about 10 minutes. I kept the same connecting bolts to battery by making a couple of attaching pieces out of steel and tapping holes to mount.

Search is your friend -
https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...=light+battery
I have the Hawker Genesis battery, only install it once in a while to drop a few pounds from the front and keep it charged up. It ran in the car full time for a month or so with no problems at all, but I threw in an Optima red for daily driving duty.
The battery comes with new bolts to put into the factory cables, or you can buy the adapters so you can use the factory bolts/cables.

They're sweet little batterys. Knocks off an EASY 20 lbs or so from the stocker I believe. You can hold it with two fingers...

Here's a pic of the connector arm I made. My photography isn't that good but hopefully you get the idea. Of course you will need two.
