Default Thermostat - does 170-175deg exist?

I am searching for a 170-175deg LS1 thermostat but haven't been able to find one. Do they exist?

Yes, only it's market as a "160 degree". The so-called
160 Hype-tech holds me at about 172F if provided an
adequate / excess air supply. The stocker is a "180 degree"
and pivots about 194F. Never waste your money on an
aftermarket 180, it will make negligible change. Note
too that to maintain a consistent 172, 194 or whatever
your fans need to be on at below the pivot point. If you
stick to the stock settings the thermostat sets the floor
and the fans set the ceiling, well apart.

Thanks for the tip. I think the 170 range is perfect for these cars.

Can anyone confirm the stock t-stat temp? I have seen people say both 195 and 180 but that is quite a difference.

My owners manual says stock is 180, only markings I can find on it is "86" (maybe 86*C?) stamped into the end of the copper. The GM part number is 12567563, tried looking it up but couldn't find it.

My stocker was also stamped 86 and I believe this is 86C, which is 187F. I live in Arizona and went with a 160 and my pinging problem in the summer went away.

The 160 degree thermo from Hypertech opens at 175 degrees. Also, the temperature of the thermo has a very small impact on the running temp of the motor. I put in my 160 and it still ran at 220 until I did tuning to get it down to 180.
